Institution dinner
Friday 16 September marked the occasion of our annual CICES awards night and dinner, held at the iconic Titanic Hotel in Liverpool’s Stanley Dock.
We’re grateful to everyone who attended and supported the event, including esteemed guests, award winners and of course, our sponsors.
This year’s black tie occasion was supported by Hexagon AB, Topcon Positioning, Trimble Inc. and KOREC Group.
Attendees were welcomed by president Andy Evans and his wife Jo, with a red carpet drinks reception accompanied by live musicians.
When prompted by the evening’s toastmaster, guests made their way downstairs to the main hall to take their seats and welcome the guests of honour.
Deserved winners
Speeches were made by both Andy Evans and former president Steve Slessor, before the evening’s award winners were announced, including:
- Robert Jewell (Commercial manager)
- Agana Parameswaran (Robin Jones Award - Innovation and sustainability)
- Ciara Williams (Robin Jones Award - Equality, diversity and inclusion)
- Prince Bahati and Arthur Bateman (Robin Jones Awards - Overcoming challenges and breaking boundaries through education, training and development)
A special award was also given to CICES media and events manager Alan Lees, in recognition of a long and successful career with the institution.
His organisation of the fantastic evening was a fitting final delivery before enjoying a well deserved retirement.
A fantastic night
After dinner had been served and awards given, guests were entertained by a jazz band and DJ, with drinks and dancing continuing into the night.
President Andy Evans gave his take on a fantastic night, saying:
‘What a turn-out! The room was full and the atmosphere was next level.
‘Thanks to everyone who came along to such a stunning venue and made it even more impressive by being there.’
