Stress is something we all experience, but what is actually happening in the brain when we feel under pressure, and how does this affect the way we think, lead and make decisions?

Who is Helen Topp?

Helen specialises in helping individuals and teams understand how they respond under pressure and how increased self-awareness can support better communication, stronger decision-making and improved wellbeing at work.

Our Vice President, Genna Rourke, had the opportunity to see Helen speak at an event in September and was struck by her practical, engaging and accessible approach, making complex ideas about stress and the brain understandable and useful in everyday working life.

What You’ll Gain

  • A straightforward explanation of how the brain responds to stress
  • Insight into why stress can influence clarity, communication and performance
  • Strategies to recognise stress earlier and respond more effectively
  • Guided support to shape realistic and meaningful goals for 2026
  • This session is suitable for all members, whether you work on site, in the office or in a leadership role.

(If you cannot attend live, please still register — a brief follow-up summary will be provided.)
