Sandy Powell is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and an Incorporated Engineer, with more than 25 years’ experience across land surveying, engineering surveying, and geospatial project delivery.  His career has taken him throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Afghanistan, working on major infrastructure, defence, and multidisciplinary programmes.

 Within CICES, he serves on the Council of Management and contributes to several committees, including as Chair of the Education, Professional Development and Membership Committee, Deputy Chief Examiner (Geospatial), Chair of the South East regional committee and a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council.

 Sandy is passionate about raising professional standards, supporting member development, and promoting the value of the geospatial and civil engineering surveying community.
