Daniel Sum, FCInstCES, FCIOB, FRICS, MHKIS, is a distinguished Chartered Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, and Construction Manager. Since 2023, he has served on the CICES Council of Management, following his tenure as Chairman of the Hong Kong Region (2019–2023).

Holding an MSc in Construction Management from the University of Bath, he founded his consultancy in 2007, specializing in commercial and project management, claims, and dispute resolution. A Quantum Expert since 2010, Daniel has extensive experience across building and civil engineering projects.

Committed to academia and professional development, he lectured at the University of Macau (2019–2023) and has taught at the Hong Kong Institute of Construction since 2023.

From 2025, he contributes to the University of Built Environment’s MSc in Project Management, focusing on contract administration and project management. He also serves on HKIC’s Programme Validation Panel, reviewing curriculum for the Higher Diploma in Surveying.
