Bernice Cowton FCIsntCES FCIOB FAPM MRICS has served the Institution as Yorkshire Region Chair, Vice Chair of the EDI Council and CoM.

She’s committed to contributing positively to these roles, believing professional responsibility requires active engagement, thoughtful challenge and acting in the best interests of members and the wider profession.

Bernice is a senior commercial leader with experience across the building and major infrastructure sectors. As Head of Commercial at Amey, she is highly respected for her strong technical and contractual judgement and her ability to bring clarity and reassurance to complex commercial matters. She brings this same rigour and perspective to her Trustee position, building trust with colleagues and partners while strengthening professional standards through constructive challenge and collaboration.

As a former international water polo player, she brings a team focused mindset and a passionate advocate in enabling others growth, creating inclusive environments where people can thrive collectively.
