CICES members cover a wide range of specialisms within construction commercial management and geospatial engineering.
Members are encouraged to take part in the future development of the institution and there are various committees and working groups established to provide a forum where you can meet to discuss and promote civil engineering surveying.
The organisational structure illustrates how committees and working groups connect to the institution. Explore all our committees below.
CMPC represents the interests of those studying and employed within the field of construction commercial management and promotes standards of excellence within the profession. CMPC works in collaboration with other professional bodies to provide and disseminate surveying knowledge and expertise.

The 'E' in 'EPD&M' - education - is a key area of focus for the institution, addressing the lack of visibility, opportunities and awareness of careers in the built environment for school and university aged people. The panel will address the increased efforts needed from all interested parties to encourage more young people into the sector to lessen the current widening skills gap our industry faces.
Chair: Dominic Lane
Vice Chair: Rachel Hames
EPD&M sets educational and training standards for civil engineering surveyors by accrediting courses, providing training guidelines, running CPD schemes, and offering workshops. It also manages membership criteria and applications, and supports early career members in their studies, training, and employment.

The Survey Liaison Group (SLG) is an independent board consisting of three organisations:
■ Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES)
■ Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

SLG bodies operate primarily in the geomatics, commercial management, geospatial, mapping and civil engineering areas of practice, with some involvement in digital imagery and hydrographic surveying.
Chair: Rachel Tyrrell (TSA)
