CICES Associate Apprentices will now find it easier to progress their professional membership following an update to the upgrade process.
Those who are completing a Level 3 Geospatial or Level 4 Commercial apprenticeship and want to upgrade their CICES membership can now use their End Point Assessment (EPA) as their experience report for their Technical Member review.
Equally, apprentices who are completing a Level 6 apprenticeship in either pathway can also use their EPA as their experience report for their Full Member review.
The change has been made to simplify apprentices’ route to membership, whilst maintaining standards, and was approved by CICES' Education, Professional Development & Membership (EPD&M) committee.
Commenting, CICES development manager Dominic Lane said:
“Apprentices are fundamental to the future of our profession, and we want to support them, and all our members, however we can help them progress both their CICES membership and in their careers. For apprentices who are coming towards the end of their apprenticeship, we hope that this development will help make upgrading their membership easier when it comes to their reviews."
CICES offers a dedicated membership grade for apprentices: Associate Apprentice (AcInstCES).
