Eligibility

Open to any CICES Member or Fellow

Applicant must have a suitable academic base that meets the requirements for IEng registration, as defined by the Engineering Council.

The Membership Department (as Engineering Council Registration Qualifications Manager) will:

What Is Involved?
Applicants must submit the following documents for assessment:

Completed application form
-
Application fee
-
Engineering Council competence & commitment statements (approx. 2,500 words)

Two-page CV
-
Three years of CPD records
-
Professional report (approx. 2,000 words)

Three sponsors’ questionnaires
Once reviewed for completeness, the application progresses to the Professional Review stage.
Professional Review
-
Formal review of your application against the UK-SPEC competencies
-
Includes a Professional Review Interview:

Duration: up to 60 minutes
-
Includes a 15-minute presentation by the applicant

The Outcome
-
If successful, the IEng title is awarded by the Engineering Council following final scrutiny of all documentation.

There are no deferrals or referrals. However, candidates who are not successful may resit the Professional Review.
