Available to any CICES Member or Fellow

Applicant must hold a suitable academic base for CEng registration, in line with Engineering Council requirements.
How to apply

Download the UK-SPEC (UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence):

Your assessment will be based on this specification.

Complete the Expression of Interest form on the CICES website and submit it.

The CICES Membership Department, acting as the Engineering Council Registration Qualifications Manager, will:

Provide advice on the next steps

Confirm payment of application fees
-
Allocate a mentor
-
Answer any questions about the process

What is involved?
Applicants are required to submit the following documentation for assessment:

Completed application form
-
Application fee
-
Competence & Commitment statements (approx. 2,500 words) based on UK-SPEC
-
Two-page CV
-
Three years of CPD records
-
Professional report (approx. 2,000 words)

Three Sponsors’ Questionnaires
Once submitted, your documents will be reviewed for completeness and you will proceed to the Professional Review.
Professional review
-
Assessment is based on the UK-SPEC competencies
-
Includes a Professional Review Interview:

Duration: up to 75 minutes
-
Includes a 15-minute presentation by the applicant
-
The outcome
-
If successful, CEng registration will be awarded by the Engineering Council after final review of documentation.

There are no deferrals or partial passes. However, applicants may resit the Professional Review if not successful.
