NEC4 Beyond the Clauses: Implementing the Contract in Australia

Drawing on live project experience in Australia, this session explores how NEC4 works in practice, moving beyond clause interpretation to focus on collaboration, governance, and effective day-to-day commercial control.

The session is presented by Steven Evans FCInstCES, a construction contracts and collaboration specialist with over 35 years’ experience across Australia and internationally. A Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and an accredited NEC4 Tutor, Steven is widely regarded as one of the most experienced NEC practitioners in the Australian market.

Originally trained as a quantity surveyor, Steven now advises clients, contractors, and consultants on dispute avoidance and resolution, as well as the practical implementation of NEC4 contracts.
