Training for civil engineering surveyors provides a foundation in both geospatial engineering and commercial management, allowing individuals to specialise in key areas such as land and engineering surveying, hydrographic surveying and subsurface mapping.
Training equips trainees with skills in photogrammetry, remote sensing and the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for effective data analysis and project planning.
On the commercial side, training may also cover quantity surveying, estimating, planning, cost and procurement engineering and construction law.
This multidisciplinary approach ensures surveyors can contribute to accurate site measurements, cost control and efficient project delivery.
Through practical and theoretical learning, they become essential to the successful planning and execution of infrastructure projects.

CICES Training and Conference Suite
CICES has a fully equipped training suite, situated on the ground floor of its headquarters in south Manchester, that is available for meetings, training, conferences, workshops, product launches and the like.

Metroun was established by a trio of surveying professionals with the aim of enhancing the field of quantity surveying education.
Their innovative online platform offers over 30 hours of formal CPD through short and engaging courses a QS dictionary, industry-ready templates, Metroun AI tools and cost calculators.

Utilities and Subsurface Mapping
CICES has entered into a training partnership with a joint venture from CSTA Global and Blue Hat. The partnership sees CICES-approved training delivered on aspects of non-intrusive buried services location training and utility mapping. Pre-existing qualifications from CSTA-Blue Hat range from a level 2 award in the location of underground utilities through to a level 6 diploma in utilities mapping and surveying.
