The Women’s Network mentoring programme is open to women in civil engineering and surveying who would benefit from support, guidance, and encouragement as they develop their careers.

What is expected of a mentee?

A mentee is expected to take ownership of their development and actively engage in the mentoring relationship. Mentees should come prepared, be open to feedback, and use mentoring sessions as an opportunity to reflect, learn, and take action.

Mentees are also expected to:

  • Be clear about their goals and what they want from mentoring
  • Attend meetings on time and communicate professionally
  • Come prepared with topics, questions, or challenges to discuss
  • Be open, honest, and willing to learn
  • Take responsibility for actions agreed between sessions
  • Respect confidentiality and the mentor’s time

The most successful mentoring relationships are built on commitment from both sides, with the mentee taking an active role in their own growth and development.
